Wednesday's Hamstring Assistance

Today's training looked like this:

Arch Back Good Mornings
45 x 8; 135 x 8; 185 x 8
225 x 5reps x 2 sets

Romanian Deadlifts
225 x 8 reps x 3 sets

Banded Lying Leg Curls
4 sets x doubled mini bands x 20 reps

Banded Seated Leg Curls
2 sets x light band x 10 reps

Ab Pulldowns
4 sets x 120 x 15 reps

It was great to get back to hamstring assistance today.  I really felt like a key piece of the puzzle was missing Sunday, which I believe was a result of me taking it back on my hamstrings on my Wednesday training.  The banded leg curls were an add in, they aren't a regular but I really enjoyed them, and will probably keep them in rotation.

Big Steve trained with me today, and FC took Speed Singles to a box, then took a max effort pin 4 rack pull.  FC worked up to 675, which was a total smoke show.  Then had a few close goes at 725.  This was a good tool for me to analyze FC's deadlift issues which seem to appear towards the top of the lift.  The 675 rack pull shows me clearly that upper back is not the issue here, but rather a hip issue.  So I will address this with hip flexion work for him, as well as continuing to strengthen his hamstrings and posterior chain.  Nonetheless, the 675 was proud, then he ripped a lot of skin off his hands with 725.  He asked me what to do for it, and I suggested that he piss on his hands.  I mean it works for jellyfish or something, right?
